Welcome to Our Website! As the second oldest church in Monroe County, Michigan, and the third oldest in the Archdiocese of Detroit, the story of St. Joseph Parish in Erie is one of faith and community life centered on Christ in the Eucharist and guided by His Word.
The faith and sarifices of our founders made it possible for our parish to grow as a people who continue to seek to make Christ known through our worship and love. Visiting Sisters of Notre Dame came from around the world to meet at the Provincial Center in Toledo in October. During their visit, the Sisters stopped in Erie for Mass, a wonderful breakfast, and a tour of the school campus. The Sisters were quite impressed with the faith-filled spirit of the parishioners, parents, and students of the St. Joseph Community. "In the name of Sister Mary Sujita and all the members of the General Conference, I want to thank you for our wonderful experience in St. Joseph Parish, Erie. We loved the liturgy with your inspiring homily, seeing the Sisters and the convent and enjoying the delicious brunch and hospitality.
